Hole & Corner
Initially a print magazine founded in 2013 by Sam Walton, Hole & Corner was inspired by an old English phrase: “a secret place” or “a life lived away from the mainstream”. It became a brand which celebrated craft, beauty, passion and skill. From hosting maker workshop events and creating an e-commerce platform for craft products to partnering with Dunhill in hosting the opening of London Craft Week, the brand has undergone significant evolution.
Alongside Sam Walton, Paul led a small team in the day to day creative development of the Hole & Corner brand, commissioning and crafting the visual storytelling aesthetic. Having worked with Sam for many years and sharing a similar approach to design and photography allowed for a seamless working relationship and the shaping of a truly beautiful editorial experience.
Paul’s aesthetic guidance ranged across the brand’s output and as Art Director of the magazine (print & on-line), he was also tasked with designing “The Story of Tools” book, published in May 2019 through Pavilion Books.
